Our Response to COVID-19
An Update from the MISA Los Angeles Team
MISA Los Angeles' Community Efforts or Our Response to the COVID-19 Epidemic
During these unprecedented times, we hope you and your loved ones are safe and well. MISA Los Angeles is adjusting to our new normal and our team is constantly looking for ways to help our employees, customers, retail partners and community. Here are the changes we've made so far:
MISA Employees: We have made a commitment to all of our employees, first to protect their health and safety, as well as maintaining their employment and benefits. We have adjusted to our corporate team working from home, while our streamlined LA production and distribution teams are working under new safety guidelines approved by the city.
Community: We were happy to have donated 10% of our online sales to Feed America in April and we are thrilled to announce we have partnered with the city of Los Angeles to be part of the L.A. Protects initiative. MISA has committed to making 5,000 non-medical masks per week for essential workers. We are doing this by refocusing the efforts of our cutters and sewers and repurposing our existing fabric. We will also be donating a portion of our mask production to various organizations, cities, etc., and making some of our masks available to our customers.
Retail Partnership: We have pushed out our Spring orders and voluntarily cancelled Summer to ease our partners' inventory burden and let our retail partners catch up once we slowly but surely open up. We are also refraining from our regular markdown cadence to support the retailers who helped build our brand.
Customer & Product: We have quickly created regular and small drops of appropriate "chic-at-home" clothing which make sense for our current lifestyles; all made in LA and all supporting our local community.
